I'd probably get the Ryzen as that platform has a long way to go.

Bought a rig that has the 7500F, no regrets on that CPU! Pairs well with a RTX 4070 Super.

This is why I love this channel. Just an hour ago I was looking for a video exactly like this! Love a channel for the average guy

I run 12400f with rx 6600 for 1080p gaming. Its power efficient and performes very well too.

If ddr5 prices were better, the 7500f would be a great buy. The 12400f and b660 has aged very wel

Awesome video, like always!
I really wanted a new CPU, but didn't have the money to buy AM5, so I decided to go for a 5700x for only $150! In some games it's a huge difference coming from a 3600

I bought the 7500f a few weeks ago in a bundle with an MSI B650 board. It was the only chip available, 7600 and above all sold out already. Paired to 4070 Super in perfectly happy with the combination, it replaced an old Xeon 5690 and GTX 1060 3g. In retrospect no complaints for not being able to get a better chip.

It's actually impressive how close 12400F is while the clock speed is over 1GHz lower

I got a 12400 months ago, a decent cheap MB and super cheap 32GB DDR4, which I can still expand. I paired it with my old 3050 for some casual gaming and I use it for work every day (software development, several virtual machines running and more). An absolute beast of a budget PC. And since they kept launching compatible motherboards all the way up to the 14th gen, you actually have plenty of feature rich MB alternatives if that's a concern.

Can't lie, I expected a bigger difference in favour of the 7500f given the extra 1 GHz clock speed advantage it has. If I was buying today, I do think the 7500f might be a better choice for the AM5 upgrade path, but this was way closer than I expected!

In Resolve, it's worth mentioning that the i5 would have incredible timeline performance, with x264/x265 footage, if you used one with the iGPU making it a far better option than the Ryzen. I care for more about how well it performs in the timeline than render times.

Happy with my 11400F paired with a 6950xt. Before anyone says it's a mismatch, I play exclusively on 4k meaning there is virtually no bottle neck. Won't be upgrading the cpu for a while.

Recently bought a 12400f to pair with an arc a770 LE and a cheap AliExpress b760 itx motherboard for a small portable gaming pc and so far it’s worked wonders. I’m exited to try out everything I can with the pairing

In Europe 12400f under 150€ and 7500f 190€. No, not comparable. And if iGPU will help in your productivity jobs it is a much better choice. 12600k for 230€ for example might be a real bargain for those who game and edit videos. You may also already have suitable DDR4 memory and then 12600k with a DDR4 motherboard will be even cheaper than 7500F set. I would go with 12600k for around 200 euros, even the upgrade path is quite extensive. All the way to the i9-14900k.

The thing is 7500f is a great CPU that is also not too expensive but the problem is still the price of DDR5 RAM and motherboards. You basically save more than $100 if you go with DDR4. It might not sound like much but if you are making a budget build, it kinda is a lot.

12400f on 5.1ghz all core on b760 riptide ddr5 6000, what a monster :)

I think most people going for the budget friendly 12400F would also go for a DDR4 motherboard. So that would be interesting for comparison.

Right now in the US the 7500f isn't available but the 7600 is and is %187. By comparison the 12400f is $110 and can get by with ram for about $50 less. $125 saved on the CPU and ram will get you a significant GPU upgrade for the price which will help with gaming and many professional applications. I would go with the Intel and tier up in dGPU.
