Mate, I live in Sri Lanka, took me a week to find someone to find someone with a laptop with a standard USB port. Tried all the other hacks on utube. This was the only one that worked! Was like having a child in a coma, can't live without my music. Thanks my friend 😁😁😁👍👍👍

I still could get mine to power up with the earlier tricks, but I plugged it into the laptop, ran the firmware update, and it’s working fine again. Thanks for the clear & concise information!

Dude. Serious Thank you. I had no idea how to do this, or that it was ever even necessary. My speaker stopped charging for some reason, so I turned to youtube. I found two other videos talking about holding down the power button, but that did not work. I was on the verge of buying a new speaker. This worked like a charm.

Thank you! Pretty sure this got mine up and running, I will add one thing for anyone struggling:

My Color Soundlink II was unresponsive, even after reset and update steps. It look several tries and about 1 hr on the charger before it would start properly. Try plugging it in to a good power source (<1A output at 5V) and give it some time.
