Mass Effect Legendary Edition Review

Parts of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition show their age, but this remaster is largely an improvement over BioWare's original trilogy.

It's a re-master. Not a re-write. If you're having to learn about mental illness and morality through a space RPG, you're doing it wrong.

Doesn't understand why Shepard's scars were repaired between 1 & 2.

Did you even listen to the story or put 2 and 2 together?

So to save 10 mins:

The Mass Effect Remaster is a remaster not a remake meaning major content is still the same and anything that you might get slightly offended by that was in the OG trilogy is still around. Graphics for the most part look better, controls have been slightly tweaked for a better feel. Same Mass Effect Story, new coat of paint. If interested in the games overall, this version is the version to get.

I don’t understand judging story elements from a 13 year old game by today’s standards. Also when a game is billed as a remaster, IE at best a fresh coat of paint, why would you expect them to rewrite story elements to fit your standards? To each their own though. The trilogy will always be 10/10 for me.

I'm commander Shepard and this is the worst review in the Citadel.

I feel like time would've been better spent looking more at the technical aspects of the remaster, instead of spending the first half of a review giving out about them not changing the story or paragon/renegade system. This review feels... Odd... I should go.

Did anyone else get the sense that this guy doesn't really like Mass Effect?

Good to see that people in the comments are also not liking this person’s review of an old series.

Ever watch a review and get the feeling the reviewer went into it desperately wanting to find any little thing to complain about?

This reviewer wanted a remake and not a remaster.

Sorry they don't need to change those things because it offends you. Keep it like it is please.

I understand remasters will dabble close to spoiler territory but this revealed way too many important plot points for sake of examples, do not watch if this will be your first playthrough

This review act like these games aren’t a 9-13yrs old. The morality system, while limited, was revolutionary for its time, especially for when ME1 came out. The trilogy story still holds up as one of the best in the entire gaming history.
And this is not a remake. This is a faithful remaster. To try and review it based on standards a decade removed, does the series a disservice. I think I’ve actually enjoyed playing it again more than the first time I played it. Whole trilogy 11/10

Why would you expect the entire story of the Overlord DLC to be completely changed in a remaster?

“Commander Shepard didn’t outright support BLM, which is incredibly shocking in 2021. There is also rumors of a 10 year old tweet where he makes fun of Liara, a non-white female alien, and I believe he should be revoked of his Commander/Spectre title. 6/10”

Wtf? This is my first time playing this trilogy and it’s a fucking 10 across the board so far as I’m close to the end of the 2nd one. They really don’t make games like this anymore

Dude really re-reviewing the unchanged portions of the original games instead of reviewing the remastered aspects of it. It's not a remake, quit nitpicking and review the changes. I do agree about certain aspects of the DLC being unlocked too early though.

This guy just came out of his “how to be an ethical journalist” class and decided he was going to be offended before he started the game. Talks vaguely about depictions being problematic without explaining what about them is an issue. Also, not a remake, just a remaster, so expecting entire story beats to be changed is a completely unrealistic expectation.
