Power Fishing Tubes (Stroking) for Big Smallmouth Bass

There are a variety crayfish imitation baits out there but it's hard to beat a tube rigged on a heavy jig head. Wired2Fish's Kyle Peterson demonstrates how to fish a tube on a jighead by "stroking" and bouncing the bait off the bottom. The head falls fast, causing the tube to flair and mimic a backward-scurrying crayfish. Moving the bait quickly triggers reaction strikes from tentative fish. This technique shines in windy conditions, and in shallow and deep water alike.

I was actually surprised to see a video with someone fishing with tubes. Trends and catchy names of rigs and jighead designs come and go. I've never stopped using tubes up here in the Northeast. Simple, effective and many ways to retrieve them. Last time I ever seen old tubes in the water and every fishing show using them was before the new Millennium. Oh, Carolina rigs still cover water very quickly and effective also...Bass jigs, C rigs, tubes, texas rigs, and my favorite crankbaits and of course top water blow ups with a good old buzzbait all work as great today as they did 30+yrs. ago...I do want to upgrade to some better electronics though..they have come a long ways. I don't TV. fish as I like to call it. But marking small schools for tourneys and clearer pictures is nice...keep up with the videos!

Haha my dude knows the secret of power fishing tubes, that’s a st.clair smack down... I like heavier weights because it allows you to keep in contact with the bottom, especially on bigger bodies of water with current.

Man they some beefy footballs!! Only thing I use is Gitzit tube's. People think I'm nuts but anytime of year I can throw tubes and slam smallies. Best time's are on the river and ppl see me crushing fish and everyone wants to know what your using. My grandfather always said hold up what I'm using but from a distance n say I don't know this thing? 😂 Let a lot of disappointed people on those banks lmao.

Atarox, you need to locate fish 1st & then position your boat down wind cast up wind and pop it let it fall and pop it! If you don't locate the fish don't waste your time throwing it.
