I tried this too. I unwrapped the chocolate and all i learnt is the speed of wife is greater than speed of light.

When I was in boy scouts we did this with wax paper and it worked by discoloring portions of it for the nodes and antinodes as well as revealing the full pattern of hot and cold spots. I always appreciated the simplicity of this experiment.
