Newton's Gravitation Would Happen Instantly, Einstein's Gravity Isn’t Instant

This was experimentally confirmed through gravitational wave detectors (like LIGO), which measure waves caused by cosmic events, such as the merging of black holes and neutron stars. A significant discovery in 2017 revealed that gravitational waves and light from a neutron star merger arrived almost simultaneously after 130 million years of travel, proving that the speed of gravity and light is nearly identical.

Thus, if the Sun disappeared, the last light and gravitational pull would reach Earth at the same time, after about 8 minutes. This confirms that gravity, like light, travels at a finite speed.
