When disabled ships are drifting uncontrollably, maybe the player can fire some sort of harpoon /tether to pull the ship closer. I feel like in universe this would make sense for like utility ships like mining companies to pull large cargo or asteroids. Could be a fun mechanic

Looking good. You should play Nexus Jupiter Incident to get some fleet ideas. Many that game was fun, nothing ever came after like it. It made ships feel big in battle.

Great work, I love that it feels very realistic with preserved momentum giving it that EV nova flying feel. Not sure how I feel about giving disabled ships drag though. I think it is cool to have to match their velocity like the Interstellar Docking scene. Maybe instead a precision engine control mode could be considered so that you could really match velocity precisely?

SC may be failing us in just about every way, but it did make it apparent that there's a huge desire for physics based space games.

I have no idea if it was from my suggestion (probably not) but I LOVE the detail where the missile Debris keeps moving with the missile explodes.

I'll send this to the discord suggestions as well but, what's the word on energy weapon countermeasures? Smoke wouldn't really be plausible but what about deployable chat which drivers on your trajectory at release, kinda like a smoke cloud that you can stay behind or inside. It dissipates/absorbs electromagnetic energy, so you can use it to shield against one energy beam blast, or you can hide in it to break a radar lock. Would be useful for setting up and ambush or drifting into a convoy unseen, shrouded by fuzzy metallic strips.

Brooo. I’m loving this. Reminds me of Stellar Frontier (and the Expanse), a game I played as a kid all the time. Crazy. Please look it up, tons of mechanics in that game.

I’m sure you’ve thought a lot about this, but there are so many mechanics available. Railguns will be crazy fun. Perhaps an amount of manual controls would be good, even down to pdc firing (like what kind of ai firing arc response/priorities). Lasers can help disable certain pdcs but can be easily countered by rotating ship or having certain armor. A stealth mechanic would be fun as well, as you would have to do a deal of calculation to make sure you intercept properly.
