Everybody talks about the few who dropped out and made it big but what about the one's who didn't? Nobody knows where they are because nobody cares if you're a failure. We tend to quote people who do extraordinary things coming from ordinary backgrounds because we like to believe that this could be us.

She believed that the only bridge between a random idea and a successful result was enough investor money to make it happen. It's amazing that so many people forked out so much money based on her belief. She believed that she could prove unicorns exist if she could just get enough investor money to fund the research and expedition to capture video proof of a living unicorn in the wild.

She was living in a fantasy inside her head and was able to sell that fantasy….but that’s all it ever was. Fantasy…and connections.

This a concept that seems hard to understand to a lot of Steve Job's wannabes... people dont get rich because they drop out of collegue, they get rich DESPITE that

I’m getting the impression from what (little) I have seen so far that Holmes’s problems stem from having a very sheltered or at least shuttered childhood and adolescence...affluenza even. I think she grew thinking it was easy to make it, I don’t think there was any trauma, she was just a very insecure woman with naive ideals that became imprisoned in her own dellusion after it failed.

If she stayed in school and worked within the system of scientific peer review, she could have done some real good.

While it is true that a lot of really successful people did drop out of college, I can GUARANTEE you that those guys that dropped out DID NOT do so on the basis that other successful guys dropped out. Steve Jobs did NOT say to himself "Well Bill Gates dropped so I'm going to too". I don't know who dropped out first but it's not that relevant to the point I'm trying to make. Going to college doesn't necessarily guarantee success (depending on your definition of success) but neither does dropping out.

Well, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Paul Allen, and Elon Musk are those who dropped out and make a software/technology company there is little to no harm to that... But dropping out and making a medical technology company is a whole different story...

She's going to win an Emmy or golden globe. The father played this scene brilliantly as well.

Elizabeth wanted to drop out her class, she exactly imitated Steve Jobs, plus using the turtle neck clothes.

Yeah they dropped out because they were playing with circuits and taught themselves. You can't teach yourself entire Pathology + Labwork + Research

Bit misleading. Elon Musk finished his undergrad. He "dropped out" of his grad program.

Education is important. Experience is important.
Bill Gates and Steve Jobs became successful after dropping out? Good for them.

But for certain subjects and disciplines it is important.
