Fun fact: the suit uses the force exerted by the user's muscles as a power source, they were made by an alien race that were so reliant on the suits their bodies devolved in muscle mass and became atrophied to the point an adult has the same amount of physical strength as a human child.
Tech Jacket is therefore like a Super hero to this species, and ***spoiler*** an evil version of Mark then makes note of this and says that if a viltrumite was to wear one of those suits, then literally nothing could stand in their way.

I remember reading TechJacket original comic and loved the story, did not realize it was brought to Invincible.
The great thing about TechJacket is that it is not even a unique item or a weapon, it was a machine created by an alien race who were physical weak, every member of their race received one after they were born and it developed as they did adapting to how they lived.
The armor TechJacket received was given by the races greatest warrior to save is life when he tried to help him after his ship crashed.
The combination of Tech-Jacket and human allowed it to reach never seen before.
I would liken it to a mechanical Guyver unit. They were originally space suits for the alien races but when used on humans granted immense power.

Actually, Dan Garret, the first user of the scarab and user of blue is near as old as superman. It is only Jaime Reyes who is younger than tech jacket.

I like how a characters measurement of badassery in this series is based on whether or not they can kill a Viltrumite.

I love the invincible universe because you have badass characters that predate noteable DC characters like this and then you also have Abraham Lincoln-Man

Actually & a Fun Trivia:
Tech Jacket is directly based on Transformers, since Kirkman & E.J. Su (his creators) both revealed in their twitter that originally they wrote the comic as a Transformers Story but it got rejected by Dreamwave(The owners of TF license in comics during that time)

Ironically enough, YEARS LATER Kirkman's company, Skybound Ent. Currently owns the License of the Transformers comics since 2023
