It has reached the point where the people don't trust the government and see them as the enemy

Whenever I hear that those who do not learn the lessons of history are condemned to repeat it, I am always reminded of the French Revolution

Thank you for the work you do John. I'm a migrant to Australia and I miss the common sense logic I see in a lot of the old school Aussie's I meet. The new breed of Australian politics is all about image (political correctness) and slandering their opposition, with no interest in intellectual discussions or the application of logical thought that create value for most Australians.

Drifting apart??? I never knew we were ever together, they've despised us peasants as much as we despise them. Only if we had the will of the French a couple of centuries ago, that is one reason they act with absolute impunity, nothing ever happens to them, even for criminal behavior

Here in Australia, we have given up on our "elites".
Australia's Milea is out there somewhere and we, ordinary Australian's are waiting for this HUGE political vacuum to be filled before Australia becomes the Venezuela of the South Pacific.

They are not really elites, Thomas Sowell nails it in Vision of the Annointed.

Here in Canada our Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre (opposition), Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe are all gaining tremendous support and popularity because they are taking an everyday common sense approach to all issues. Gender, military, immigration, Federal deficits, education, homelessness, natural resources etc etc. They're providing hope and strength to the rest of us, and we're thankful for that.

Fortunately for the "elites" then that the masses are completely submissive.

Good point John a great turning is taking place in our time, the elites as you name them really will learn to yield or face imminent demise, will be looked back apon as a spiritual piece of artwork. We’re very fortunate to watch this go down!

Their aim is to keep the masses talking and concerned about anything other than Taxes and benefits.. Calling them Elites is not helping either. It's all distraction. We need to not fall for it. We need to come up with our own agenda and not waiver.

The question, how do we fix this. !!. ??.

Australians can’t think it’s that important. They were given ample choice at the last election: for example, just off the top of my head, there was the Liberal Democrats, One Nation, UAP and others that fielded candidates in many electorates. But on the day the Aussie voters still lined up behind the same tired old parties trotting out the same tired old slogans. Which is why nothing will change.

Brilliantly done & Sadly goes for all government’s in “the West” now One World, One Law, One Suppler, One Surveillance, One Health, One Food, Top down obliterating local environments, cultures, conditions, such as Nations. Industry monopolies, central purchase & distribution for the world. 1 mill super wealthy 8Billion codependent on Government. This Can not happen of course. We need sovereign independent people and local societies. Simple really.

People can forgive if others get wealthy. It's the placing of restrictions and obligations on the rest of us in the pursuit of some abstract goal and internal social cache without any consideration of whether the outcomes are a) desirable and b) feasible.
