Trek Domane+ LT

Our lightest electric road bike looks, pedals, and handles like the road bikes you know, and gives you a part-time assist with a hidden Fazua motor for the biggest climbs and fastest group rides.

Of all the things that make rides great, it's the company you keep that matters most. The all new Domane+ LT lets you keep up with anyone, anywhere.

Just purchased this bike. It is fantastic but for one design flaw. The battery latch broke after just three days. The latch mechanism is part plastic and subject to a lot of pressure. This part should be metal. I am now waiting for a warranty part. I hope it holds up a lot longer.

PROS: Front derailleur with Double chain ring. CONS: Not a class 3 ebike. Speed is limited to 20mph, vs 28mph on a Class 3. Also, weighs almost 30lbs. Specialized Creo weighs 27lbs.

The isospeed is not enough efficient on irregular roads compared to a VTC (e.g. Cube Kathmandou). There is no amortized fork in front, so it is not much useful, all the less with slick tires.
I add that when you do not use the battery for 15 minutes you need to remove it to reset it and reinstall it, a stupid procedure that does not exist to other manufacturers. Then the removal of the battery is much harder (because the eject button is very hard to displace) than on a VTC

I love the removable aspect involving the motor and battery. However, I understand that assist is limited to 20mph. Other road bikes have assist to 28mph. Why limit assist to 20mph?

The Domane for those on a low carb diet haha.

I do admire the tech in this bike but good luck getting spare parts a few years down the road.

I saw somewhere where you can remove the motor as well as the battery? Or is it just remove the battery? I’m kinda interested in this as a commuter during the week with the battery and then do normal rides on my days off. Does it have a set up like some other electric bikes where you can plug in an extender battery in A bottle cage if wished?

I bought a trek boone and the bottom bracket was defective. Trek placed more carbon in the shell and returned it to me. The frame has done the same thing and now trek uk are not honouring the warranty. Be careful if you buy a Trek bike with press fit into carbon.

Why would you slow down on speed? The original Domane+ was assisted up to 28mph and the LT is only up to 20mph? Come on!

My dream is to have a TREK DOMANE bike, but because my family cannot afford it, I think the dream is always a dream and it will never be realized. (This comment is from Vietnam)

This bike has serious issues.
1.... The power pack retention system is poorly designed... Mine broke on its 3rd un-clipping of the power pack from the frame.
2.... You have to remove the power pack from the frame to energize the system.
3.... See point 1.
4.... You have to remove the power pack from the frame to charge the battery.
5.... See point 1
6.... You require a bike stand to support the bike while trying to release the battery from the frame
point 1.

Sorry Trek I take no pleasure in highlighting a serious design flaw
