The SUPREME COURT is impotent!! Nothing changes except more court appearances and lawyers continue to get paid.

Again the court not doing its job. "Shall Not Be Infringed" any permit, license, etc is an infringement by its very definition. The court is aiding the criminals as usual.

wouldnt it be wonderful if the scotus just came out and said "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED"! PERIOD! think of all the time and money that would be saved for other things like beer and ammo

You can't purchase a semi-automatic rifle or a pistol in New York state unless the sheriff's offices open. So you can only purchase these things Monday through Friday from 8 to 4. Or at least you can buy it but you can't take possession of it until you ferry a piece of paper back and forth between the sheriff's office and the gun shop. And they're closed on the weekends so you can't go on the weekend to buy a gun and if you work from 6:00a.m. to 6:00p.m. you're pretty much screwed too unless you lose hours at work to go take care of all of this.

Apply the idea of permits, licenses and fees to any other right and you quickly see it's unconstitutional.

The US needs a Bill or Act that states if any government official attempts to create a law that challenges the Constitution will be prosecuted with fines, jail time, no longer able to ever serve in office and does not get a pension.

Of course the permit was granted to moot the case. If they hadn't done that, he might have won, thereby mooting their stupid permitting process for everyone in the city. The trouble is finding a way to prove that beyond reasonable doubt.

Still doesn't remove the requirement of having to get a permit before you can acquire a rifle or shotgun.
