Liked the fact that people in comments tried to understand the situation instead just criticizing Tata.

Just remember this: It took us 150 years of research to reach where we are today in case of internal combustion engine vehicles. Whereas in the case of EVs the world is just 20 years old, it will take time to reach that level of perfection which we have in case of IC engines.

Batteries are extremely dangerous, when there is a short circuit you get total thermal runaway, besides most petrol vehicle fires are caused by their batteries, not necessarily because of the petrol.

The problem with high incidence of EV vehicle fire in India, is due to lack of regulation. Every Tom, Dick, Harry, and the road side Mechanic with a tool box have started shops to convert to EV, and manufacturing EV vehicles. This has to stop. Imagine an EV vehicle catching fire in an underground basement car park in a high rise. It will set fire to other petrol engine cars as well and a total collapse of the high rise, and for safety reasons it will be unsafe for firemen to even go in and try to put the Fire out. Please implement serious regulations and a stop to this destruction.

Whatever we do or think, it will take time to achieve satisfactory level of safety for EVs.. Like we have Internal Combustion Engines at very safe levels, where no one talks about a possible fire (due to petrol) and almost all fires are due to short circuit.. We reached this level of safety after decades even though petrol is highly combustible due to continuous improvement and R&D.. expect same with EVs

If electric vehicles are so high tech along with computer boxes as common already, their safety features such as battery fault, thermal warnings and electrical shortage should be part of their system visible to the driver in their gauges. Another one should be not able to start the car if there is underlying problems to avoid mishaps and accidents.

Indian companies need to account for the subtropical climate of India. Lithium batteries will easily get heated beyond their capacity. Anyway, there should be proper sensor system and its output display cues to warn against the possible mishaps when heat or other critical factors start reaching thresholds.

The lithium battery should be on air-conditioning system otherwise the battery will catch fire .
The resistance of lithium battery is very low heat temperature resistance after long duration drive .

TATA's car 🚘 is one of the safest car across India 🇮🇳, Detailed investigation should be conducted

You forgot the coolant which is required to coll the batteries..if the customer doesnt check coolant levels..that may also stress the battery.. The same goes with combustion engines

Tata nexon ev is first time in 2+years have in flames. Its might cause due to some faults in battery management system or any other reasons. But it doesn't mean they are unsafe. Just like Tesla, Tata evs are more safe than any other brands cars. So no compromise on quality.

This is happening in Every Country regularly enough, as we have all seen in our own Countries.

There are many reasons for the EV's to catch fire viz:
1. Li-ion batteries. Their quality and safety standards.
2. Safety of Li-ion Charge controller used for charging the battery. Over charging & Fast charging can deteriorate the batteries and cause potential hazard.
3. Water sealing property of various devices and assemblies used in the EV's.
4.Lack of Short circuit protection and fire proof measures.
5. No standards in maintenance of the vehicle. Use of Open market accessories maybe one of the major cause of damages to the EV's.

Nothing to worry about, they just need to design a better battery management system.

I think that's why the RORO ship *Felicity Ace* caught on fire and sank in the Atlantic Ocean this year. It's the first time a RORO vessel ever caught on fire like that, and it was carrying 3, 965 Volkswagen Group cars, including Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini and Bentley models.

Electric cars are kind of failed in countries like India due to various reasons compare to USA.
1- India is very hot country compare to USA which causes the batteries to exhaust and heat more faster then USA electric cars
2- Our road conditions are very much likely hard compare to few develop countries where electric vehicles are getting better.
3- We are still in trail period of time and it will take few more years before they can successfully launch electric vehicles which are prepared for any conditions as per the country.
