...and by Good Head I mean clean and freshly cut valves and valve seats, faced head and all assembled so all the valves pull a perfect vacuum so we know the explosions will stay inside the engine and make the most power to push our plucky forklift around effortlessly! Thanks to Paul and his team and particularly Matt, for squeezing us into their busy schedule and getting our forklift engine into tip top condition. Next job, grinding the crankshaft and using fire to force the new pistons onto the original con rods...

Download the history of your vehicle or your next potential cheeky vehicle purchase. You never know what you might find out!...
Hope you enjoyed the next part of our forklift refurb, the crankshaft and pistons get sorted next week and then I can start rebuilding the engine and get it into the truck to do some heavy lifting! Thanks for watching!

Matt was very good in front of the camera, good humour, and knowledgable. Lets hope to see more of the guy.

Wow! Matt is such an excellent presenter. I hope we'll be seeing a LOT more of his machining & presenting talents. Great episode - thanks to all.

What a great demonstration by a chap who can not only do the job, but explain the job, brilliantly. This is what TV doesn’t ever show these days: competent people being competent. I think it’s because TV producers can’t think their way into why anyone would want to see this, because they don’t understand it. It’s great that we can have this here.

That Serdi machine with the floating and self centering is mindblowing! And the hair test was pretty convincing. I like how Matt explained everything, he seems so knowledgable, I'd totally trust him with anything engine related.

As an almost 65 year old. It is heartening to the old skills are not being lost. Matt is an excellent ambassador for any would be machinists, great content Edd.

Ahh a workshop that uses vacuum to clear swarf rather than blowing it all over the place into machines and across stored materials. That is worth a double thumbs up.

You can tell the quality of the machinist by how he cares for his tools and using a vacuum to clean up instead of air to blow it into everywhere tells you just about all you need to know. What a quality job. I also love the top tip on the collet assy. just call me fat fingers McGee...

I love how edd is so humble and just listens to the young lad explaining the combustion etc and edds looking thinking yup... I know 😆.
I've come to the conclusion why edd doesn't intervene much when people are explaining stuff because hes letting us the audience listen and take it all in.
Great content as usual edd.

The gunk on the valve is what is known as heavy ends, as the gas is warmed as it goes through the vaporisor it sperates from the gas this can then stick to everything in the system, you'll find the vaporisor will be full of it a brown waxy stuff,
Really enjoyed these videos proper engineering not just chucking new parts at it!
We are learning a lot on fixing our Rover V8 race engines up on our channel

I learned more in the last 40 minutes than last 40 years about an engine - .and I’m not even a mechanic . Brilliant informative video, I could watch and listen to that all day . What a fountain of knowledge .

Guys like Matt are worth their weight in gold! You can see he has a passion for what he's doing. I'm sure that engine will run better than it ever has.

If Matt doesn't have his own YouTube channel, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! He's got the talent and the gift of the gab.

Just when you though, you could do everything yourselves, you get a video like this, telling you your an infant! What a great video and so well explained. I'll definitely save this one.. Thanks Edd.

the demonstration with edds hair was phenomenal! Really goes to show the accuracy involved with this kind of work

Edd,
These two videos are your best yet. This guy really, really knows boats( his stuff).
Every thing he did and said is 100% on the money. Particularly the pumping the oil through the engine with no load and then doing the start
