I'm 42 and just started skating again after a 20 year break. Never learned to drop in as a kid but I just did it last week for the first time! I'd been standing on the edge of a 3 foot quarter pipe at my local park for 6 months. Then I watched your video, went through the steps and nailed it. Thanks JB for the great technical and motivating content.

I like how you put crazy tricks in-between steps to remind us this is only the beginning 😂

Yo! I saw you at this skate park today, just said hi but didn't want to interrupt your lesson, but you ended up coming back and handing me some stickers. Was cool to see you, I had watched your carving videos and was doing a ton of that, practicing kickturns, and going down the bank into the pool and pumping all the way up, I got it a few times! Gonna keep watching your vids man, thanks for the content!

Hitting 51 next week & just started skating. I rode maybe twice in my teens and it was always on some board with no concave or pop. The hangers were either plastic with a low quality steel axle or entirely cheap metal and both would eventually bend after riding off a few small drops. Initially, it just started out as buying the board I would've wanted back then just to have. That changed once a friend's children started telling me about what they do which made me decide to start skating myself. It's been two weeks now and the format of your videos really helps!

The thing I’ve learned most from skating is that the skaters there are the most chill people on earth 90% of the time

Dropped in for the first time on a quarter pipe at the skate park, after trying on my own and slamming pretty hard, everyone there was so chill and I can’t wait to go back. Thanks JB ❤️

I am 59 years old and skated drains, ramps and parks all the way until my 20's. Back injuries curtailed my skating, but I could still do a lot of intermediate park riding and street skating and even motocross into my late 30's. From the first few minutes of watching this video, I have to say, "you are one excellent teacher."

Can’t wait to start doing this, was always a street skater. I’m 40 now and I’ve been taking my kids to the parks, and it’s time to finally learn how to skate bowls and ramps!

Thank you, I just can’t get over the fear factor. I’ll have my dad hold my hand for more confidence. You gotta do what you gotta do

Personally I like the leaning over explanation for the ups and downs but if I were to have watched this before I learned to drop in, I don’t think I would’ve pressed down hard enough based on the way you’re explaining it. I take everything literally and explanations that may seem like common sense to someone who knows what they’re doing, doesn’t always make sense to me. So if you’re reading this and you’re like me. You can’t just lean over slow because like he said, as soon as you put any pressure on your front wheels your back wheels will start rolling. You really need to ensure that your front wheels hit the ground and you kept that pushing momentum because you will get really hurt if you lean back. It’s way better to over lean than not lean enough. Hope that makes sense and was helpful if you heard the instructions like I did. This guy is amazing for teaching this is the only video I didn’t quite understand

Dude I Iove your videos! Im 43 and trying to get back into skating. I love your systematic way of teaching. Youre a really great instructor! You do a great job of breaking things down, showing progressions and most importantly, encouraging and inspiring your students to believe that we can do it!! Thanks JB! Youre awesome!

This is the best video I've seen on how to build the confidence for dropping in. I really like seeing the part on how to build confidence since it's hard to get an idea of what to do when you've never done it before.

Awesome lesson; What helped me starting out was holding on to the nose of the skateboard with the lead hand during the dropin... That pretty much forces you to lean over an in while bending the back leg...

Greetings from germany. I'm 25 now and I'm using my board mostly as a last-mile transportation since the covid thing started. Using Bones 59mm ATFs to get around the city.
I'm feeling like a little kid every time I get back on the board.

Now I need to learn how to carve and drop in after watching your videos....
Love your positive vibes.

Keep pushing !

I never had the courage to drop in in the years I have skated. I have only just taken it back up again and on my bucket list is dropping into a pool and carving. The time is now! Thank you for this video, I'll be following your instruction very carefully .
