SKATE TIP: How To Teach Dad To Drop In To Mini Ramp #skateboarding #teaching

We feel that the best way to learn something is to teach it. So after Cashy recently learned how to drop in on her own, Nick decided to have her teach him. His thought process is that she, upon her next skate sesh, will remember the intricacies of how to drop in. Thus giving her the confidence that she can do it again and again.

As a person who went to college to become a teacher, teaching to others is a solid way to show the comprehension of the skill. It allows one to explain what they have learned but explain it in their own words.

As you see in this video, Cashy forgets a few key points to a successful drop in. However by having her teach (with a little bit of my help), it will engrain the small details for her to have her own voice remind her the steps to be successful dropping in on her own.

To be honest, we don’t know if this is the best way or the “right” way but it’s what seems to be working and as they say (who’s they?) “If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it!”

The amount of lessons you are providing to her without her really even realizing it is amazing. The confidence in speaking what you have taught her is awesome. It also is reinforcing that knowledge because instead of hearing it from you two, she is speaking it. Just a blast watching her blossom. You have so many admirers!

Honestly if I was taught how to skate by a child vs an adult I wouldn’t be too hard on myself and I’d probably end up being able to skate for more than 10 feet without falling lmaooo she’s a great teacher!

I cried to this.
It's always nice seeing a kid filled with joy doing what they would like to do and. Also being grateful doing so. Its sometimes nice when you can see someone else doing something you never could do and being impressed by it. I'm so proud of this kid and others that get to be free but also Learning and teaching others that need help. I hope everyone dosent give up on there dreams and always push forward. Farther then me. You did your best and it is okay to take a break but always keep going. Thank you for your time. Have a good holiday, day, or night.
