He is our breath; the breath of life. That's what I think of when I see or hear Y-h-w-h/Yahweh

In traditional Judaism, 'Adonai' (meaning 'Our Lord') is only used when actively using those words In Prayer. It is used as the pronunciation for the holy name of God, YHVH. Because the actual pronunciation has been lost to time and would only be said by the High Priest once a year.
When Not In Prayer, HaShem is used in place of Adonai. For example if someone asked you what Hebrew Bessing you were just saying you would respond, "I was saying, 'Blessed are you HaShem our God..'
I hope that makes sense.

Thank you for acknowledging God has a personal name, distinct from His many titles.
LORD
Adonai = My LORD
HaShem = The Name
El Shaddai = God Almighty
Exodus 6:3 "I appeared, therefore, unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as God Almighty, although by my name Yahweh I was not made known to them"
Psalm 83:18 "That men may know that thou Whose Name alone is Yahweh, Art Most High over all the earth".
God's name (the Tetragramaton) YHWH = Yahweh or in english Jehovah.
At John 17:6, Yeshua/Jesus said in prayer to God "I have made your name known".
So we truly have every reason to believe he taught using God's personal name, not just His titles. Love befitting shown by the Son to his Father.

This is why there’s confusion now, nobody told man to take his name out, hide, convert it, shorten it, elongate it, change it etc to many names out here and the name that truly holds wait is Jesus, that’s what always works for me until he tells me otherwise? I’ll stick to what I know this is to much.

Question. I grew up praying to God. I was taught about Jesus and believe. I notice alot of churches say in Jesus name Amen. It kind of makes me uncomfortable like I'm not acknowledging God and the Holy Spirit. Any thoughts on this?

Most people don't know Hebrew was a dead language for idk 1000 years or so. It was reconstructed by a Jewish Zionist and several friends approx. ca. 1881. It's literally the only Language that has been brought back from the dead. Kinda like Jesus, I guess. I suppose that is why it's called LaShon HaKodesh?

Hey guys. To be clear, Adonai is not the SAME. It means lord in Hebrew but it is not the same as His name. The Jewish people wouldn't "try" to pronounce it. As the brunette man said, they often say Hashem and it does mean "the name" because they were so scared to take His name in vain so they stopped saying it altogether, unfortunately. :/ I am a follower of Yeshua. I observe the Sabbath and Holy Days and for 15 years I was blessed to work in the Orthodox Jewish community working with children as a Nanny and working at an Orthodox Hebrew school. Blessings.

I speak English and growing up I thought His name was Jehovah and then apparently it was (for some reason) switched to Yahweh. But since studying more of the Hebrew I have come to be led that we (as English speakers) should not try to pronounce what the Hebrews say shouldn't be pronounced. It truly take away from the majesty of God and it makes things into cults (like Jehovah's witnesses). Talking with one of my friends he said that Yahweh was the God of the old testament (and he was evil) and Jesus is just a random person in the new testament(only love). I do think it takes away from Yeshua which is the revealed name of God.

side note if you pronounce the letters as they are (without niquds) you can here 3 of Gods attributes in His name "Yah-ha-vah"
Huveh (hey, vev, hey) meaning (self) existence
Av (aleph, bet) meaning father
Ahavah (aleph, hey, bet, hey) meaning (selfless) Love

full meaning the "self existent father of selfless love." I don't hear this in Jehovah or Yahweh.

Why is it avoided, pronouncing the full name?

Actually it's a replace word used to disguise the real name of God from Hebrew captures at that time. It's not proper it's a title not a name it is a reference to God. Unfortunately it can be used as a God since it isn't the proper name Yahuah or Yah
