Brazilian plane crash kills 62

A plane crashed in Brazil on Friday, killing all 62 people aboard and leaving a smoldering wreck. The airline Voepass said that its plane, an ATR 72 twin-engine turboprop, was headed for Sao Paulo’s international airport Guarulhos.

8 cancer doctors were among the 62 passengers and crew who died when a Brazilian airliner plunged dramatically from the sky and exploded in a fireball yesterday.

15 doctors had been scheduled to take the doomed flight, but 7 had taken an earlier flight.

10 passengers scheduled to take the same plane had also miraculously avoided the doomed flight after waiting at the wrong boarding gate in Cascavel, Brazil.

2 crashes for the ATR plane in 2 years. The previous one was in Nepal and equally horrific. They should ban these airplanes. Something in them isn't right

On Friday I told my mom that flying here in Brazil is really safe, as we're one of the countries where aviation regulations are taken really serious. Our last commercial flight disaster happened 17 years ago. And in the next day, this sad event happened. It's terrible.

i read a tailspin like that is due to the airplan unable maintain speed, wonder if they filled it with just enough to get to its destination. wouldnt be the first Brazilian plane crash due to fuel

There are 3 possibilities that could cause a flat spin. (1) Insects, perhaps caterpillars, were nesting in the pitot tubes. (2) The air brake spoilers were deployed. (3) Ghiaccio.

It appears to be one of the engine went to Thurst Reverse...very rare occurrence but this kind of plane had few occurrences before also

Tail Runner there is a bolt that runs in the back there to the upper flap and they have a history of breaking, you can see it in the videos like a hard pull like something broke
