Volvo V60 2014 review - Car Keys

Volvo is well known for its estates cars, and the latest tweaks to the V60 make it a far more desirable contender versus rivals including the BMW 3 Series Touring, Mercedes C-Class Estate and Audi A4 Avant.

We tested the new D4 engines, a 2.0-litre 170bhp unit, which has plenty of performance, hitting 0-62mph in 7.6 seconds, while also showing off some impressive running-cost figures.

So should you choose it over the more obvious German premium rivals? Watch our video review to find out.

That facelift did a lot to make the car look sportier. In my opinion looks just as good if not better than the BMW f31 3-series! Going to buy a 2014 T4F and took it for a test drive, I found the steering light and smooth shifting. Mine is a Kinetic with stock sound system but that still blew me away as one of the best systems I've experienced in a car! A really comfy and beautiful car!

Stearing is not heavy. Very light. And is the best seats in any class. They are so comfortable

A great alternative to the German rivals.  Can't agree on the "heavy steering", it's a light as anyone could wish for.

Car reviewers are so obsessed with bmw and audi like they are the holy grail.

Would take this over any German brand.

The volvo v60 is far superior than its Audi and BMW German rivals. Volvo have always been known for their safety, comfort and reliability but now they also have performance as well. I really dont understand the BMW and Audi obsession. I had a 3 series whose engine seized at 104K miles and an A4 that leaked water into the cabin through the bulk head and destroyed the interior carpets. Never again. Volvo for life!

Well I own one. 2014 1.6 d2. What can I say. It is a good city car, nothing more. 5-6 l/100km urban driving and 4-5l/100km on highway! Fuel economy is great! Interior is looking good but it is very cheap. Not a very comfortable car. I am getting tired when I drive it for a long time. I never got tired when I was driving BMW e60 or Audi a6c6. Built quality is very cheap, sometimes it feels I am driving in plastic box. :( I own manual transmission car and bad thing about it, is when you buy yourself a coffee and put it in the cup holder it makes difficult to switch gears. There is 50-50 chance that when you switch gears you will spill your coffee. :D I did it twice, was unhappy.

Reliability? Looking good doesn't get you very far if the car breaks down in the Welsh Hills.

After three and a half years of BMW ownership (318i E91 2010) gonna switch for a Volvo. Has enough of an appalling reliability. 5 000 miles per year and not even 9 months straight without something broken! What a horrible piece of junk.
