Hey lil man the reason younpop it sideways is the line makes the jerk bait work great you pull from the top it dont pop as good and here is a great tip for you when you put a diffrent bait on your bait caster always reset the brake to that lire you jist put on baits are different weights so it will throw different reel it to the top eye click the button and get it where it just stops the bait from falling then start fishing and have fun
