the difference between a “value hire” and an “out of the box” hire
-how to determine the “pie chart” of compensation you can offer
-What DOES and DOES NOT effect compensation (this is super important - so many horror stories here)

We always base ours based off the median salaries in our home base city; we want employees who choose to be here, not necessarily looking for optimization of salary and only that. We offer more than that as a work place and that comes with trade offs.

So since you are fully remote and you don’t have a geographical factor, how do you decide what market to benchmark to? Do you use national average?
