I've had an OBE. I wasn't having a seizure or ever had a seizure or any kind of epilepsy. Not saying people shouldn't speak to their doctor but making it seem like the reason these things happen is because of that is a step too far. It's okay to say, "I don't know."

so… they are saying that you can basically “leave your body” and be “consciously doing so” but it’s not spiritual?! it makes absolutely no sense. as a psych student… this is so bizarre!

Funny how some people who haven't experienced this or even connected with the spirit world, believe they know anything about it or are an expert on the subject.

I fainted and went into a seizure while waiting in line at a Golden Coral back around 2007-08.

During that time I saw myself from outside of my body. I felt like I was looking down from the ceiling. I could see myself having a seizure. I could see my mom panicking next to me. I had no control. I did not see a tether. Everything was bright. I felt myself be put back into my body by some other force that I had no control over. I remember it all clearly. I wasn't on any drugs.

edit
I could see the food items on the buffet. The one that sticks out the most from the memory was a layered towering red velvet cake. Some of my family members ate some of this cake after the fact. This cake was on the other side of a bar and seating area, out of direct view of the reception area. One could easily see the desert bar from higher up. Did my mind just assume there was a 4 layered-Red velvet cake on the other side?

I could see other people who were not in the room at the time, (A white, female, manager and a black, male, cook) they came from the back, rushing in to help, people that I didn't see before I fainted, how did my mind come up with that? Am I psychic? Did I just guess the existence of two people and coincidentally guess their genders and race? Does it make me racist because my brain assumed the cook was black?

What I witnessed was a changing environment with many people reacting and going to and from, many people dining and enjoying a night with their families. My mind did not imagine or guess all of that.

I would argue that a situation like mine (public place) would be better for experimental testing because the person having the experience can identify things that other witnesses seen. Stuff that the person having the experience should not be able to know. Things that can be confirmed by those running the experiment.

No Doctor or scientist can tell me otherwise. My mom left her body, and could tell everyone what they were doing at that time... Til this day no one knows how she found out. Its like her soul was searching for us.

Yes. I was floating up and looked down at myself... it was very dark, very cold, very painful... I decided not to die yet and fell back into my body. That first breath back to life was incredibly painful.

It is amazing how science is ignorant about being, they are still blaming anxiety and so on, and believe the body creates this experiences.

I have, I was in a car accident and all I remember of it is seeing the car crashed into a pole from above, also seeing myself walking down the road also from above, don’t remember having any scratches bruises or anything afterwards

Hi, do you know the difference between an out of body experience and dissociation?

Have felt that a few times smoking marijuana... It was really scary the first time... I remember the window of vision closing in when my eyes were closed... And in the shape of a box... The box of vision and consciousness started to close fully, then I could feel myself separate from my consciousness. Actually a very uplifting experience knowing I'd be okay and makes you appreciate normal life... And makes the thought of leaving this world at some point much easier once you have experienced it. ❤

I've had and even intentionally induced very vivid and conscious OBE's. To me it doesn't seem to make sense that they are some kind of disorder, but rather they are a natural and normal state of consciousness that we don't full understand

First molar tooth extraction at age 14, one of my first major procedure experiences which caused trauma.
I have no recollection of mum and I being in the waiting room or going in to the dentist room and getting in the chair. My memory of this whole thingstarts when I am inthe dentist chair and presents from the viewpoint as if I am sitting up on top of the door frame. I see myself trembling more and more in the chair astime goes on and they try to extract the tooth. At no point is the memory from my body's perspective. I even see them stop and go get my mum to bring her in to calm me but it doesn't do much. Despite my extremely traumatised state they continue. My memory kind of stops after that though - I dont see them actually get the tooth out, but I know they did, as we took it home lol!
The focus of the memory seems to be on how traumatised I was, so much that my soul had to exit for a time?.. or why is it presented to me as an OBE?.. I haven't had it with anything traumatic otherwise thats happened to me since then. Even my miscarriage plays back to me from within my own body, never out of it.

LOL. "We notice that there is a physical correlation with these things, therefore it is all physical" 🤦‍♀️

Doctors be like: ya I thought you may say that

I would suggest that most of the obe occurs when people wake up. Whether there is something mystical behind it is a deeper question. However, NDE is a category of its own and I would not associate NDE experiences with the usual OBE experiences. OBE experiences can be very different in nature and it is not worth putting them all into one category.
