Half these comments are people bashing a vehicle line with more combat service history than the Bradley, Humvee and Abrams combined.... the BTR is lightly armored because its a wheeled vehicle. LAVs and Strykers are just as poorly armored because of the limitations of weight tires have while also being very mobile. BMPs and Bradleys while offering abit more armor, also need to be fast and cannot offer that much armor because its still an IFV designed to transport people. For the job they are designed which is troop transport and scouting? They all excel at their job. They each have a particular Niche they fit and work as intended. And with modern munitions as opposed to how war was n the 40's? These vehicles protect the crew and occupants better than whatever APC we ever had in the 40's while still being combat effective and useful for decades of service. Remember that

У нас по дурацки. БТР- это бронетранспортер . Т.е., его функция- доставить. П натвской тактике бтр, после высадки десанта отходит на задние позиции и только по необходимости поддерж.подразделение огнем
, а по нашей тактике продолжает оставаться с подр., подд.его огнем. Но ведь его легко замочить.

Wtf is a Soviet era? Apaches are Soviet era. F16 and F15 are Soviet era...Btw Hungary has some of the newest BTR-80A with newest turrets and canons. Budapest was pressured to give them to Kiev. And Serbia offered to buy them ! LoL And it did!

weak armour, even .50 cal can pen this vehicle.. gun also no stabilizer so it cant shoot on the move.. outdate vehicle.. russian armour vehicle cant compete with nato vehicle armour even ukraine bt-4 better than this junk
