I like the last guy he rolls when tanks is still 20 feet away.

It's a drill for soldiers to know how to sneak and stay unnoticed by an approaching tank by staying in its blind spot

“PRIVATE YOU WHERE THE LAST IN LINE AND THE FIRST ONE OUT THE TRENCH WHY?!?!”
“BECAUSE I SAW A TANK COMING 50 YARDS AWAY SIR”.

The Germans in WW2 did this kind of training all the time. Guy Sajer's book "The Forgotten Soldier" describes training for the Gross Deutschland division doing this same drill. It is intended to cure the troops of "tank feaR" that can cause panicked soldiers to run off in terror by the mere approach of a tank -

I like how at the front you got a bunch of people trying to recreate a death scene from "Edge of Tomorrow" and at the back everyone has decided to live by immediately getting out of the trench

I served as an anti-tank jaeger in finnish military forces. In the training we did it in flat ground and everyone lied down and we couldnt see the tank. We waited to be given instructions to roll over when the tank was 1 meter away. We had to trust our instructor to give a good call and it made us not fear tanks as much as we used to. This training was to make us trust the instructors even when our life depended on it and to be more comfortable with heavy machinery as there could be times when we need to go under a tank. We call it "panssaripelonpoisto" so that rougly translates into "Removing being scared of tanks".

"But if you don't learn fast enough, you do." Priceless!

My dad served in the Taiwan Military. The tanks (light, medium, heavy, special variant, etc) have blind spots when any small objects (humans, people, soldiers) are close/very close to the tanks. This training is to avoid getting run over by a tank and also avoid being spotted by the tank gunners (gunners shoot machine guns) and commanders (commander shoot the main cannons).

Our army (Finnish Defence Forces) does that. Some of my mates were trained as AT soldiers and said that it does give a nice adrenaline kick. Also, it takes away some of the anxiety linked to the tank sounds and resonating. Not to mention, it reportedly feels funny in the gentleman’s parts when you hug the ground before rolling.

An instructor walks beside the tank ready to give a stop order at all times. Have never heard of any accidents.

Tanks are so hardcore. One minute you’re invincible blasting seven shades of shit out of everyone. Next minute you’re Swiss cheese with shrapnel burning alive while the enemy laughs at you. It’s insane.

Here's the thing as a former tank commander if someone bails out of a trench too early, there's these things called guns on tanks that can shoot you . If you wait to bail out long enough from the trench the guns can't be depressed enough to target you. If the trench is deep enough and the driver tries to flatten you and doesn't turn sharp enough one of the tracks may get stuck in the trench.

we did these kind of exercises in the finnish army to overcome "tank fear" when it drives over your trench, and main thing was that the tank is practically blind that close of distance so you can flank it and place a satchel charge or whatever. The last guys in the clip were basically dead tho since the hull mg could see them when they rolled too early
EDIT:
If the enemy armor gets the command to roll over your trench/ foxhole or simply doesnt know you are there you really wanna get out of its way, and plan the next move to put simply enough now, maybe guys in the back have their sights on the tank, or you have some tnt charges somewhere in your trench position or the next, the scenario is very unlikely but you are taught to be ready for almost everything

I literally thought it was training to stay low as possible and not get run over before they started rolling 😅

I went through Infantry Training in 1987, and they had us get in a hole, have the Tank roll over us, we would pop out and fire the LAW and it rear, being the most vulnerable area. Fun times.

The Training is to help you get accustomed to Battle Sounds and to face fear of staring down a tank

As a platoon.. I think we would really need to sit down and talk about how we got ourselves into this situation in the first place 😂
