When After The Gold rush was finished, Neil Young moved from Topanga Canyon ( Los Angeles ) to Half Moon Bay CA. In 1971 he bought Broken Arrow Ranch. Neil Young introduced himself to
Louis & Clara Avila
Mr. Avila was the ranch hand ( caretaker )
and subject of Old Man.
