'I'll sing! But Can You Play any Spanish Songs?'

I was asking random strangers to sing with me in The Village of NYC when along came La Cassandra! She noticed I played a spanish song for my previous guest and wanted to sing one, too! (Little did she know, I had to learn that song ON THE SPOT!) She gave me her song of choice, and so began another test to see whether or not I could pull this style off...

That day was special to me in more ways than one. I had just come off a bad fever that had me home sick for a little over a week. I was finally feeling better and more like myself and wanted to go for a walk in this specific park that I rarely go to. I got off the subway walked a bit down and noticed the sign. I hadn’t been able to sing in a couple weeks and my heart lit up. Approaching Reggie with my very specific favorite song I was blown away by how fast he got it and specifically my original song since I don’t even have the chords available online. As a singer it’s so enthralling to come across another musician and have instant chemistry performing, its like my soul does a little happy dance. I can say that has been the most special walk to a park I have taken yet. Thank you Reggie for your humbleness, talent and brightening my day with our sidewalk singing without even knowing it!!

This song talks about a former couple that meet again. She starts asking him about his life, etc. She tells him that she knows he can´t forget her, no matter how much he tries. And although she knows he doesn´t love her anymore, she knows he will always come back, once and again.. She knows he misses her, because she misses him, too. Although there´s nothing left to say, and there is no love left between them, they will always look for one another. So the main line says something like : It is true that being used to someone is stronger than loving them. Greetings from Lima, Perú. 😊
