Sick of being stuck at an F# - G4 with your vocal range? You’re not alone and trust me, you're not a baritone. I’ve made the fix absolutely free over at this channel. Guaranteed.

THIS is why learning to scream properly is so important.

He went to a vocal coach who wanted to help him sing without damaging his vocal cords but he didn't stick with it.

"i would sing and cough up blood" sound like a great title for a nirvana song

He apparently also had scoliosis which made performing standing up for long periods of time painful especially with a guitar.

He wasn’t using proper grit methods for his singing causing severe laryngitis on top of his cigarette smoking

The stomach pain was a withdrawal symptom.

He was good at spinning things, in interviews.

Kurt and Layne Staley’s lives were paralleling each other so much at the same time in history, two of the greatest vocalists ever…. Both considered grunge royalty…..Both guys were falling apart mentally and physically during the same time in history…both hooked on heroin, both falling apart on the inside, yet the Nirvana and Alice In Chains unplugged sessions were by far the two best, even though Kurt and Layne were both really messed up at the time of filming….. RIP to Kurt and Layne, They had their demons as we all do, I’m sure they fell into a cycle of just doing things they didn’t wanna do, but by all accounts they were both extremely tender hearted at the core….. I really hope they have peace now

Kurts stomach problem was also caused by his spinal scoliosis the pain of which added to his self medicating
I and Mick Mars can personally vouch for back conditions causing problems in the digestive track and lungs
Apparently according to a lot of medical experts had he been right handed the weight of his guitar would have helped correct the issue but being a lefty actually made it worse
His music was literally his salvation and his pain

He did mention that he wasn't having stomach problems anymore and found the right medication towards the end of his life...

Buzz Osborne, one of Kurt's closest friends said that he lied about even having an stomach disease and that he did it to justify his heroin addiction and to cause simpathy to others...Who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

The last note of Scentless Apprentice is chilling and I can feel his pain after screaming that.

When I first started singing as a hobby, I experimented several painful stomach aches.

Now I know I was forcing myself too much and not doing myself any good.

I remember reading a long time ago he had ulcers. I'm unsure if he ever followed up with a doctor, tho. Back then there weren't medications for GERD. My father would chew 10 Tums at a time every few hours and drink a gallon of milk a day before Zantec came out. His started when he was 30. Then mine started when I was 30. I have GERD, Erosive Esophagitis, and ulcers. I believe it's the same issue Kurt had.... 😢😢😢
