We love President Nelson. What a remarkable man. And he leads us to be more like Christ.

My biggest point of contention is that this is more like a papacy than a prophecy.

It’s a passing over holy order to maintain the structure of the church which I think is critical to maintain structure of a structured religion.

Prophet Nelson is akin to a Pope in my opinion more than the prophet

Pope’s have successions, most prophets do not.

Every prophet in the Bible didn’t have a following prophet come after but within the Papacy there is a succession.

The titling is off. As an outsider studying the LDS I would title the Prophet Akin to a Pope, a Prime Minister, or President than a prophet.

Having 1000s of stake presidents kinda throws off the hierarchy titles.

I would just restructure the titling and organization.

Someone like me has actually spoken to God and has visions from God all the time I still doubt that I’m a prophet.

Having prophetic messaging and visions would classify me as a prophet but I don’t know because I’m still not a very good Christian lol I’m not a priest or anything I was just raised in a bunch of Churches and both my grand fathers oversaw 100s of churches.

I was never a member of the church though so I’m an outsider of even my own family churches and even the 4-7 churches I attend every week which includes the LDS church.

Yes. Correctly identifying a prophet requires that you, the reader, also have a spirit of prophecy (the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit), or spirit of discernment.
