Why are so many people going to family court without a lawyer?

For various reasons — divorce, separation, child custody hearings — more people are finding themselves in front of a judge in family court. And increasingly in Atlantic Canada, they're going it alone without a lawyer. CBC's Cody MacKay explains why that is, and what can be done about it.
