Hi there, thank you for this. I received this error message (SMART....) today when I tried to update my computer with macOS Big sur. My iMac is only 2 years old, so I am seriously hoping that it isn't dying so soon. I have backed up my data and run disk utility first aid several times - which all went well. What do you suggest? How come my pc is telling me about the SMART status, but when I go look at the drives, neither of them detect, nor mention any error? IDK which drive SMART says is going bad if they both say they are good o_O

I have a Lenovo YOGA when it turns on it has a black screen with a note.
"Setup Confirmation:
Default boot device missing or boot failed. Insert recovery media hit any key. Then select Boot Manager to choose a new Boot Device to Boot Recovery Media. OK"
When i press okay there is not boot device to pick.

I read this is actually a scam and there is nothing wrong with the hard drive. It's just malware. Anyone watching this video should research this on google and get a second opinion, especially if your computer is relatively new. Hard drives don't usually have mechanical problems after only a few months.

I install the crucial p2 nmve ssd 500gb in my Asus fx505td and launch the smart bad status message, but in the software of crucial it's says that the ssd is in good state :/

So, did just by replacing my internal HDD, this warning could be gone instantly? I'm planning to clone my internal HDD with a free software called EaseUs to my other spare HDD and made this new one as the system. If I just do this, will the warning about this s.m.a.r.t will be gone right away?

Can I temporarily disable the S.M.A.R.T. alert so I can get something on my comp really quick? If the hard drive is “about” to fail, that means it hasn’t yet and there should be a way to say, “screw it, I want to run it till it’s dead..” Do you know how to bypass it and do that?
