Please update tutorial about NFTS read only case (and add some packages to the system ex. ntfs-3g, fuse). All other is fine.

Format drive as Ext4 if you are getting the read only error

Worked great, except when I click add, I get an error saying read-only file system. I will look at how to fix that

Things seem to have worked however can you then connect the usb to a vm to acces the files that are on the drive. Say if it is movies or some thing?

Hi! Love your clear vids. Any chance you could explain how to share a local USB drive (connected to Proxmox) via Samba? What format does the drive need to be? I've seen your Samba share vid but I'm not able to get the read / write settings working with the USB device. Cheers!

hello i gut a question for you i seen other video where they add a line on etc/fstab trought nano in order to do a backup on the external drive and use it to restore is it exactly the same

Hello Thanks for the video. I am new to proxmox and have a couple of noob questions.

1.i am having issues adding an external drive to proxmox. Every time i successfully add one, It disconnects after a system reboot and doesnt re-mount automatically. I always have to remount manually every time.

2. I installed truenas vm, and plex via lxc container but cant access my usb storage even when its mounted in proxmos.

Please help.

Hi Tried to follow your tutorial and got stuck at the add storage step with the error message "create storage failed: error during cfs-locked 'file-storage_cfg' operation: mkdir /media/USB_Data/template: Read-only file system at line 1133. (500)" Do you know how I can fix this?

How do i remove the USB? Proxmox wont boot if its removed as it will still search for it. Ive tried deleting it from storage devices but it still searches at boot.
