Michael Angelis' death reported on BBC News (31st May 2020)

BBC News reports on the death of veteran English stage and screen actor Michael Angelis.

Although best remembered by many as the narrator of the hugely popular children's television series "Thomas and Friends" from 1991 until 2012, Angelis also appeared in a number of other popular British television programmes during his career, including "The Liver Birds", Boys from the Blackstuff" and "The Bill".

Angelis was married three times, with the most famous of his marriages being to "Coronation Street" actress Helen Worth, which lasted from 1991 until their divorce in 2001.

Angelis died suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Berkshire on 30th May 2020, aged 76.

The death of Angelis was a sad day for the Thomas the Tank Engine fanbase and one of the many lowlights of 2020. Though he was a long-running narrator in its native UK, as an American Thomas fan, I'll always best remember him as the narrator for the "New Friends For Thomas" VHS and DVD, which was released after Alec Baldwin was fired but before Michael Brandon was hired.

Angelis is now in TTTE Heaven, along with George Carlin, David Mitton, Ben Forster, John Hurt, and the Rev. W. Awdry himself.
