Many users in China have tested the actual real world range of the new BYD Qin L under normal driving conditions and found BYD's published range rating to be conservative. This came as a surprise to many people because BYD's rating is based on the CLTC test cycle which tends to overstate the range of EVs. People tend to forget that although the CLTC rating overstates the EV range, but it also understates the ICE vehicle range. The CLTC rating has lower average driving speed and much more stop/go cycles than the EPA rating. Since the Qin L is not a pure EV and most of the total range is obtain using the ICE power of the vehicle, then it is not a surprise at all when we see many drivers beating BYD's CLTC range rating.

Overtaken in any aspects, 1st thermal efficiency 46.06% with mass production car, Toyota Nissan can only claims over 45% with prodotype engine; 2nd over 2100+ Km range, some comments says bigger gas tank can make any car do it, actually can't do it without high thermal efficiency, fuel weight also make more fuel consumptions; 3rd gas mileage as low as 0.029L/Km; 4th 14K USD price for a B class sedan with full of sefaty and convenient features.
