No mention of the predictability of carbon pricing. Business typically bases their investment decisions on multi-year capital investment budgeting. If the Canadian government(s) would provide a predictable 10 year price/tonne schedule, it would make investment planning much easier for businesses think through their investment decisions. This would also provide consumers with clear signals upon which to base their investment decisions. For example, whether or not to buy an R2000 home, an electric car, solar panels, etc. In the aggregate, these millions of investment decision will drive down carbon emissions, while driving a more innovative economy that is less wasteful and less carbon intensive.
