How to know your gaming mouse grip | Advanced Grip Guide

To help clarify what kinds of grips we're using on gaming mice, I put some extra thought into how we could define them and made this list. It's a new idea, I don't know where it will take us, if anywhere, just trying something different. Hoping it helps people get better recommendations as we specify the important parts, without going too in depth.

So what's your grip style based on this list and what mouse do you find is best for it?

And yeah if you're using a Cooler Master MM720, I guess that's a form of 131 grip. If you want your ring finger rested, you'll have to specify that when asking for advice.

That's literally what I have dreamed of. I always feel so limited when talking about mouse grip, it's definitely the system I'm gonna use going forward.

This is fantastic. As someone with a larger hand and just learning mouse grip techniques and what they mean, your video has been a god send. Can't thank you enough.

Great job codifying the different elements of mouse grip styles. It is too easy to reduce everything to the big three of palm, claw, and fingertip with some hybrids in the middle, but this helps make it much more detailed and specific to easily classify and identify a specific grip style. Well done!

Here is my grip style:
1. Anchored
2. Straight
3. No Palm Contact with Mouse
4. Relaxed Fingertip
5. Wheel Tips
6. Together

Mice: Razer Viper Mini on main PC and Razer Orochi V2 for mobile/home entertainment use.

This is going to help a lot, previously it felt like I couldn't even distinguish between fingertip and claw grips

Love the video--and would love to see the search feature on your website be updated to allow searches based on these descriptors.

Great video! I've often wondered if there was a "best" way to use/grip the mouse.

I’ve been using palm grip ever since I was on KBM but I recently tried claw and it’s been so good for me

Would you consider putting out a guide on how to find/create the perfect mouse shape, using clay?

Wow my grip (and hand size) is almost identical to yours, that's why your reviews are spot-on for me. Only difference: 2-straight and 6- separated in 1-2-2.

Anchored, straight, relaxed fingertip, wheel tips, separated. I have pretty big hands, and use a G203 Lightsync on high sens (560 edpi), and it feels great.

Putting this here for my reference as well:
1. Anchored
2. Straight
3. Hybrid
4. Relaxed
5. Wheel
6. Separated

Using my friend’s Viper mini feels perfect for me currently. Been looking at getting a G403 soon, will be looking around how that feels.

This video really helped out and made me realise i use almost the exact same grip of yours, the difference is the mouse touchs my palm in the ring and pinky finger area not the thumb area, my mouse is a g402 but im saving for hyperx pulsfire haste
