I am thinking of making a filament area where I have a welder and a winder

Well with a wait time and clean up process like that, you’re better off just heating the two ends up with a heat gun or soldering iron and just touching the ends by hand. Been doing that to fix my spoons for years. It’s just you have to get a feel for the amount of heat and time to allow the plastic to actually “weld”

Or you could just flick the ends of two lengths of filament briefly with a lighter and shove them together in a PTFE tube. Things 3D printing enthusiasts typically have rather than gimmicky tools that will break quickly.

Just know that if you are using any type of color changing or shifting filament there will be at least a slightly visible separation of where the first filament ended. Depending on how you welded it and what direction you look at the part it can be pretty bad too

Now do it with an amount of filament that could actually be useful

Meh, I’ve found 1/16” ID Silicone hose works just as well and is cheaper. Tye welds come out not really needing ANY cleaning which is dope as well.

This is better than the other filament welder I have seen because this one is a clamp and doesn't require u to thread the entire roll through to get it out after its been welded together.

Use any heating device better use soldering iron it'll get the job done nice and clean buddy 😊

Probably similar to fiber optic repair

I heat the very end with a torche and push it together not to far so I blend in the hotter part and clean it when I rolls it back on a spool I juste leave à little bit of loose at the jonction so it wont rip

I forget what the product is called but there's actually a better one that does filament adhesion and it basically does it automatically I think it was only like $150 and basically you can put a whole bunch of strands of filament in one end as long as you have them prepped for the adhesion and it will pull them through as it needs the next one to attach it will just slide over the continuous side so basically on the left side of the block you have your output on the right side of your block you have all your inputs and all the little holes like up to like I think it was 20 on this one and what it would do would actually shift the left side over and there was a little space in between for it to like drop into like a not going into all of it but it was like $150 $125 plus shipping and would take in 20 filaments on the right side and then give you one continuous long filament on the left side and you typically did this with filaments of the same color unless you wanted like a rainbow pattern etc and you could even tell it it would mark out on the filament that you know like where the end of the filament and new filament can join and send that info to the 3D printer so it would actually stop the 3D print while it passed the slice through the waist chamber just to ensure a good cohesion like in case the splice wasn't perfect or whatever and I'm sure the price of that thing is gone up since then maybe $500 now because when I got it I got it from one of the people that was developing it for I'm not saying the company cuz I don't remember what company it was going to be marketed under versus who actually invented it so I bought it for near cost so yeah it's probably $250 to 500 bucks but still well worth it also another thing you can do is melt down your plastic and extruded back and they make a machine like that where you put in like either the same color or multiple colors whatever and you got your new rope but that piece of shit that thing's a piece of shit you got to heat it up then let it cool down then let it heat up then put your shit in or whatever no too much crap Don't have the time for it at that point

And that last fit check is the whole reason that I will never use a Bowden tube system again, direct drive all the way.

Could you turn the music up a bit? The guy talking in the background made it hard to hear.

“Print something”;
That is the best way to describe 3D printing. This is not a compliment.

Before a month I was thinking to make something like this but I didn't have money for it.. what's the name of it... Maybe I will buy in future

Not good unless it also sets thickness

“Have you ever tried to weld filament?”

Me who doesn’t even have a personal computer or the fil in filament: 🏴‍☠️

Or just get a filament sensor for your machine

Or get a small tea light candle and a small piece of Bowden tube and do it that way.
