Scandal Ridden BBC Fails To Learn Lessons From Huw Edwards And Jimmy Savile

Kevin O'Sullivan and William Yarwood discuss the BBC's ongoing scandals and the public's perception of the broadcaster. They criticize the BBC's failure to learn from past mistakes, such as the Jimmy Savile and Martin Bashir cases, and highlight the ineffectiveness of the BBC's HR managers.

They point out the high salaries of BBC employees, with the median salary being 50% higher than the UK average, and question the justification for the TV licence fee.

This comes as BBC director-general Tim Davie said the broadcaster has been “let down” by several controversies which have rocked the corporation in recent months and involved high-profile presenters and TV shows.

Mr Davie said the BBC had been put in the “spotlight” following scandals which include allegations around the treatment of contestants on the flagship programme Strictly Come Dancing and the sacking of presenter Jermaine Jenas after he admitted sending inappropriate messages to female colleagues.

Savile was not a fail. Leaking out his preferences just shouldn't have happened. They would hire him again if they could

The fact that they receive such government support seems to empower them to their elitist attitude and the crimes they commit are justified as long as no one finds out.

In the case of Jermaine Jenas, a person has got good looks, fame & fortune & they think the entire Earth loves them, They believe they are irresistible to all women but the World doesn't work like that. Nobody is irresistible to everybody & there are no exceptions.

I be very surprised if a member of the British general public does get prosecuted. Because they don’t want there television licence. I’d say they would have to mention they don’t want to have the television license to be renewed. Also l be very surprised if any of the British public do get fined. It would be very hard and a lot of pressure. It would be interesting to find out how many people in the u.k. have television licence. I live on the east coast of Australia. Australia hasn’t had television licence for years. It got faded out. I’d say it television stations paid for its self. I apologise for the length of this comment. 😮😊😊

It is so easy to cancel your licence fee and never any hassle. Life is so much better and freer without all of TV except Talking Pictures.
