How much money does an artist make at an art festival? How do artists get health insurance? Why do you use a kite to take aerial photographs? In this video I answer a whole bunch of questions that people ask me all the time as I travel to and exhibit at the Westhampton Beach Festival of the Arts in Westhampton Beach, NY. Plus, my van gets messed up again on the way home😫

My name is Evan Reinheimer, I am a full time artist. I travel the world using a traditional kite to lift my camera into the sky to create unique aerial photographs. This technique is called "Kite Aerial Photography." I exhibit & sell my artwork at art festivals across the USA.

I love your work! Are your pictures on metal? If so, which company do you use?

Ouch the van issues!
I try to say good morning and without pausing ask a question like- Have you walked the whole show are just starting out?- It looks like you are enjoying the show?! - if they have purchases. If I can get them talking about themselves first, it’s easier to transition right into my work. They’re not just parroting what I say - good morning, good morning.
Love your videos!

Good of you to bring up conversation techniques. In my early days, I happened into a method that helped: A man walked in, and I sensed something about how he carried himself that reminded me of an old friend who I hadn't seen in a while. I chatted with him as if he was that friend, but since I wasn't sure, I didn't use any assumptions (name, background, and so on.) This visitor picked up on my friendliness, and he opened up as well. We developed a good rapport, and that helped him decide to make a substantial purchase.

That's hysterical that you say Good morning, but don't like saying 'Good Afternoon'. I am the exact same way! Ironically, I also had a massive blowout on the Highway doing 80mph on i80 - Absolutely shredded my tire. We might be living the same experiences!

Oh my gosh Evan, I’m so sorry you dealt with that blow out! My Enterprise risk manager brain immediately went to thinking something is faulty with the tire based on the shape of the blow out. I know you’re covered, but might be something to check out especially if it was a new tire and no sign of impact

Great seeing you at Westhampton and sorry I bored you so much with the details of my son’s progress at the European tour stop in Barcelona. Tried to say goodbye after tear down but you were engaged in serious details. I know you say that you have some trouble interacting but you are extremely outgoing and very personable. As usual the videos are informative and interesting so keep em coming. Hopefully I will see you next year at Westhampton or another show on the circuit. Peter Brown Rhinoglass

HEY EVAN! Sorry I missed you this season but great to see you're doing well. And sorry about all the van troubles. I think that vehicle is jinxed. Looks like you blew out on Sunrise?

Thanks, Evan for another great video. Sorry about your blow-out; you seemed pretty calm about, but I can only imagine how scary that was. Interesting about the "Good Morning" - I am the same way, and will try to extend it for another half hours. Good Afternoon just doesn't have the same 'ring.'

Hi Evan, I like that you don't sleep in your van. Can I ask where you stay in Westhampton?

I don't get how your van ends up at the destination where your art show is going to be?

You step on the flight, take train to go to the other airport where your van is parked. Okay that's clear, but how did your van (with all paintings) get from your atelier/home to another state's airport parking where the show is going to be?

Do you know if MIA has open lot long term parking? Trying to figure out CG logistics for the first time, going to Gasparilla afterwards and thinking about flying back home to VA in between
