Doctor Erwin Kahl was a genius. A criminal, yes, but a genius. His aspirations knew no bounds, and he yearned to one day rule the entirety of Inkwell Island. But building a weapon powerful enough to subjugate the island's inhabitants would take both time and resources, neither of which he was in any hurry to expend in any great detail. Eager to gain such a weapon, or at least the material necessary to create it, Doctor Kahl sought out an even greater evil genius than himself: The Devil. The Devil offered to solve both of the mad doctor's problems at once by promising him a grand machine of incredible power, which the doctor would find in the nearby junkyard. Although hesitant, Kahl ultimately agreed, unaware that the Devil had not given him a gift...but a loan. And the time would soon come for him to collect his due.

Dr wily legally changed his name and got plastic surgery, stole the master emerald from sonic and knuckle, then built the second iron giant. You can't prove that I'm right, but you can't prove that I'm wrong

I have huge respect for the creator of this video, this boss has a difficulty rank as high as The Devil and is not easy to do. To beat this boss you need to be prepared for attacks, you need the right weapons, you need precision, accuracy, and lots of dodging skills.

That moment when you are having so much trouble beating this boss on regular/expert mode and you finally hear the word ‘knockout!’

You know how cartoon mad scientist robots aren’t meant to last forever and will soon be destroyed by the hero? Dr.Kahl didn’t follow the rules and made his robot nearly impossible to beat. That’s what I love about this boss, how Dr.Kahl puts so much work in his creations, and he even tries to protect his robots “soul” from the devil.

After many months of frustration, I finally defeated this bastard tonight.

Words cannot express the amount of relief and satisfaction I felt when 'KNOCKOUT!' appeared on the screen.

Even more satisfying is that I landed the final blow with my fully charged super attack right into his smug face.

Hard boss, but very rewarding. The first phase demands timing and mechanic which you don't have in the other bosses, loved it

Anyone else think the name of the scientist is a reference to Milt Kahl? I read an article the other day about him, apparently he was a Disney animator who worked on things like robin hood and winnie the pooh. I just thought this was interesting

does anyone else think this boss is the absolute worst in the game? Not because he's "too hard" but because you do no damage to him at all during his lengthy first phase, and his 3rd phase is cheap as shit, with projectiles you can barely see?
