I believe the body and frame are pretty much one integral unit on the C4's, and all Corvettes since. I read once that the bodies can be separated but it's a very difficult thing to do. And I believe the only steel body "panel" is the one that goes underneath and up behind the seats, everything else is either fiberglass or plastic, but frame steel of course. Don't hold me to that though, that's just what I've read up on them.
