The C4 has a ton of "bang for the buck". And they're still one of the best looking Vettes ever.

Just bought an 85 last fall. 31, 900 miles. Runs like NEW. THANKS For your video. Getting ready for summer.👍

Here's another FREE mod, simply remove the heavy harmonic-balancer on the front of the water pump. I noticed an immediate improvement in the acceleration of my 90-C4!

Glad to see people making C4 videos. They're such great cars, and a hell of a lot of fun.

Two and a half years ago I inherited my 95 C4 from my stepfather, it had 46, 500 miles. Right now it just turned 49, 000. I need to drive it more.

Another mod recommended by former C4 engineer Gordon Killebrew is to run a wire down the fuel bib. Simply open the lid over the gas cap for access. This will clean out the spider crud that often forms and allows any excess water to drain instead of getting sucked into your gas tank in a major rain storm. Never got caught in a sudden downpour? Lucky you.

Great video and suggestions. Not so sure about the air filter mod however. I have an 86 C4. I replaced the L98 motor with a 600HP 427 DART SHP small block. I am still using the factory air cleaner and cover. The bottle neck for the airflow was the neck section of the air cleaner assembly, not the filter cover. The filter cover louvers have adequate opening and do not restrict airflow even when drawing airflow at 600hp.

Happened to come across this completely accidentally, the privacy cover mod alone was worth the sub alone. I have an 86' Corvette with 38K original miles on it. Looking forward to more videos. Thank you.

Nice C4 and i did those same mods on my 85 plus installed headers which car made 220whp which is approximately 270 engine HP so these mods do help the engine breathe and can add up to 40HP if dyno tuned.

Eventually built new stroker engine and car now makes 382whp

Get the underdrive crank pulley. Was huge on cars back in the day. At least 14-16hp. Just use crank pulley only and get the belt for it. If you get the "kit" which comes with crank, water pump and alternator pulley and a belt, the water pump underdrives to much and the alternator at stop lights slowly discharges your battery and car also gets hot because the pump isnt turning as fast. Both the alternator and water pump pulley are bigger to use the belt, don't do it lol. Just get a crank pulley and the belt that goes with it.

Traco made chips and mid america used to have a couple chips options. I liked the traco chip. A bigger item would be rear end gears. About 50 lbs of torque. Can't go to low with the gears because the car doesn't have a lot of rpm. Getting 3:31 or 3:54 is the sweet spot. 3:73 is to much. THe automatic has the Dana 36 rear and manual has the Dana 44. I switched out my Dana 36 (very weak) and put in a dana 44 and adjusted the length of the drive shaft. My 85 stock ran a high high 13 at carlsbad and terminal island (when the tracks were open)

Airfoil, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, Throttle body from BBK, Exhaust, air lid open with K&N, Traco or similar chip, pulley, gears and im sure there is something else but also simple bolt ons, i was running almost into the 12's on stock tires (nooo sticky tire choices back then, was running on gatorbacks LOL ) Had my trans massaged a bit from Art Carr transmission, did my own port matching of the plenum and intake to match the throttle body and intake as well. Got me into high 12's. Stock bottom end, stock heads.

Muffler eliminators are a fairly cheap mod and I highly recommend them. I was super skeptical about putting them on my 87 thinking they would be too loud or wouldn’t sound good but I couldn’t be happier with them on. They look and sound fantastic and surprisingly aren’t much louder in everyday driving as long as the rest of the exhaust is stock. They should give the car a bit more power too

Have a nice white 96 LT4. 51k. All stock from the air box to the tips. Drive it on weekends in good weather. Someone always wants to talk about it or offer to buy it. NFS. I'm gettin older and stiffer , so maybe a C6 manual in the future. Thanks for the C4 content.
