Micro-minis horrify me solely because I have larger hips. I can't even get regular miniskirts to stop riding up and mooning everyone. A miss for me, although I like them in theory!

I remember being a kid and the ribbon in the braids was something that my mom would do for us and it always felt somehow special.

Does anyone love it when a friend or family member gives you a piece of clothing that you might not have chosen for yourself? I find I love these pieces so much more for some reason just like Alexa loved the leather bomber Carrie gave her!!

I love baby tees because I hate tucking fabric into my bottoms but I'm also 5'9" so a croptop feels like too much midriff out for my personal comfort. So glad they finally came back into style cause I've been wearing them for years but struggled to find any. Now there are tonnes to choose from sustainable or secondhand!

as a church girl yes the denim maxi skirt can give that ultra "conservative" vibe but I think it all depends on the fit of it and how you style it. Personally I like mines more straight cut and with more thin denim and I love it💕

I just want to say thank you for including diverse photos for the trends, it’s a small detail but it means a lot

The Newspaper pattern was SUPER popular in the early 2000’s because Carrie Bradshaw totally wore a Dior Newsprint dress in sex and the city season 3 that alot of folks went crazy over. Interesting to see it all come back

Bows make me so happy. When I had a job with a specific, strict uniform, I wore bows to work every single day to add personality to the ensemble. I'll never give them up. 🎀

Edit: I love the newspaper pattern on CERTAIN things. I hated those newspaper pants you showed, but it's so cute on like a vintage style A-line skirt or dress.

i work at a clothes store and the most valuable lesson ive learned is "cute for someone else" bc there are a lot of cute clothes out there but that does not always mean that those clothes are for me !

Okay I've become obsessed with maxi skirts in general. They're so flattering and I'm always gravitating toward them now! Also obsessed with 90s fashion and I think if you balance the jean maxi skirts with like, a backless top or something that updates the look it's such a classic easy outfit. I really hope they don't turn off the trend anytime soon I've found SO many at the thrift!

I have flat feet too and actually according to my doctor it’s better for us to wear shoes with more arch support since we don’t naturally have it so we don’t hurt our feet. That’s mainly why I look for shoes with a little heel and good support and most ballet flats don’t provide that, but they do look good on others❤

I'm so afraid now that chunky shoes aren't as trendy... I have autism and I get overstimulated and stressed by uneven surfaces under my feet, so chunky shoes literally changed my life for the better (I just had to get over towering over most people with the added height 😅).

On that note, I'd love it if you made a video about how your OCD affects the way you dress, if you would be comfortable with that

I definitely agree with your micro mini and ballet flat opinions!! I’ve been looking for a ballet style shoe with a heel forever because I just feel like flats are uncomfortable and give my feet a weird look.
Also on the newsprint, I actually really like the pattern (my bedspread in high school was newspaper print) but I’ve been finding it really challenging to find it on clothes that a)I like the cut of and b) don’t have weird things written on them. Like I don’t want to wear something that has “fun. Cool! inspiring” as the “headline”

I also think tiktok has influenced people into developing individual style. This is also my literally favourite trend seeing unique styles and takes on major trends. Hopefully this can become more mainstream in 2023 as people find comfort in what they like for their style and consume less micro trends, therefore invesing in items they will love for years !

As a W10- THE WANT FOR SMALL FEET IS REAL.
Or maybe not want, but just being conscious of foot size in proportion to the body,

Some styles really just make feet look huge, or stumpy, or out of proportion. It brings to mind sneakers x full length skinny jeans vs sandals x cropped loose jeans. My feet are big so I love to show details to my ankles and give contrast between my bottoms and my shoes. Nobody understands (particularly short people) what I mean when I say showing ankle is flattering. I really love a pointed boot and a Chaco, I do still avoid rounded toe shoes and flat shoes like Nike Pros or Adidas Superstars and ballet flats. And shoes are expensive, and a lot of sizer stop at size 9, so I usually go with what works for shoes and take more chances in other areas of my outfit.

Edit after video: DO you feel like you may have more shoe opinions because you, like me, have been putting too much effort into figuring out what shoes "work" for your feet and now you're so much more vigilant to shoe trends with likes and dislikes? I'm also 5'5, but my height is in my legs, and any skirt made to hit around the knee looks MINIMUM obscene on me.

Can I just say I love how you show all body sizes in your examples. Love.

On hair bows & ribbons: Hair braiding has been around for centuries (way back even before Medieval times where it first “trended”. ) It’s definitely always been here and won’t leave for I’m sure many centuries more :)

i actually LOVE and appreciate that you do disclaimers!!! a lot of youtubers don't do any at all even for more stronlgy opinionated content and i find it odd because we should all know at this point that there are a lot of young & impressionable people on here! ty for being a light in this community <3
