the corp core and quiet luxury trends are all so recession core to me. it’s giving very 2010s business casual in the club

The only thing I liked about Corp core was that all of a sudden it was a lot easier for me to buy clothes for my big girl job that weren’t wildly expensive or only at old lady stores lol 😂😂😂

im gonna make an outfit with the denim skirt, the chunky jewelery, crocs, and an exposed bra now just to feed the chaos

The clean girl, corp core, and quiet luxury all just feel like examples of capitalism and racism coming through in fashion trends

Basically, the trends mainly oscillate between two extremes:
- 20 somethings trying to make it in the world (corp core, clean girl, quiet luxury)
- 20 somethings trying to escape this current world and retreat back to their childhood (bows, ballet flats, those necklaces, mary janes)

Usually creators use words like 'hideous' etc to describe trends they don't like. You've steered clear of that and also made it funny. Your tiers actually comment more on the designers, companies or capitalism that created the trend, not the everyday people who wear them.

If I wore anything you personally didn't like, I could giggle at being a 'glitch in the simulation' or 'psyoped', rather than hearing that what I wear is ugly or trash. Respect. 💛

I understand discourse about clean girl aesthetic but as someone who doesn’t wear makeup, has naturally oily skin and uses super glowy skincare, clean girl actually gave me some sense of aesthetic identity and made me feel a lot more comfortable in the fact that I just don’t like wearing makeup. I appreciate clean girl for that

As someone who puts too much conscious thought into buying tops that hide my bra straps, I was really surprised to hear about the bra-strap-peeking-out trend 😂

what i like about quiet luxury is that i think its the reason everyone cares way more about the type/quality of fabric

the big not-plastic pendants remind me of when you’d get a juniors top at jcpennys and it’d come with a coordinating necklace loll

the exposed bra trend is definitely for the busty girls!! i'll definitely be taking advantage of it to be able to wear interesting necklines/sillhouettes without having to become an engineer. that forever 21 lacy halter bralette which was popular in the 2010s is coming back into the rotation for sure.

I know in my head that it was wrong of 11 year old me to judge the denim skirted looks that the Pentecostal moms were serving at the good ol' homeschool co-op gatherings. and yet, my heart refuses to let me wear anything that vaguely resembles them.

I probably mentioned this when I answered your Instagram question, but the reason why I don't like the football/soccer jersey is because I am from a country where people are crazy for soccer, so I associate these jerseys to hooligans and guys at the pub. So not the pinnacle of fashion or people I really want to associate with. On the other hand, I don't have any bad association with long denim skirts, so I think they're cute.

I’m really surprised to say this, but the way you feel about the lace up ballet flats is how I feel about the giant red shoes.
I’d never wear them but there’s something about them that feels both nostalgic and toy-like but also kinda futuristic or avant-garde.

Every time I do see them on someone I appreciate their playfulness!

the ribbon trend has done nothing wrong! however, i hate it when people leave the ends SO long that they look like long insect legs or just force it everywhere so they all look tangled lol

This one was so fun! Underwear as pants is definitely a psyop- I don't think they made it anywhere mainstream outside of some articles and if I saw this irl, I wouldn't register it as fashion, I'd feel kind of embarrassed that someone forgot their pants. Same situation with corpcore- it's definitely aimed to making people who are entering the workforce over-consume when they buy their basics because they're 'cool' by glamorizing it; every generation gets some version of this, be it the lbd, or business casual at the club, or just a blazer over everything.

I relate so much to your opinion on the denim maxi skirt, my brain would have to be reprogrammed for me to like them.

I thought I hated midi rise. Hell, I hate them in the mid 2000's when I was a pre-teen. But yesterday, I went to the thrift store and found this AMAZING pair of Bebè low-rise gray snakeskin print pants. I couldn't resist them. They had to come home with me.

With the sequins and metallics trend, I have to say I really hate it, and not because I think it’s ugly but because the materials used for those products are literally plastic and fabrics that don’t hold up well. The large majority of people are going to wear those items one time and then donate them or trash them and it’s just gonna fill the landfills with clothes that are made of plastic and garbage. Such a waste.
