The biggest problem with legacy automakers is their dealerships. Gm and the rest design cars to continually break down. Thereby selling a $10.00 part for $300.00 and another $300.00 in labor charges. This is by design. If you didn't know this earlier, you know it now. Buy a Tesla and let the rest of the automakers collapse under their own greed.

On GMs offering; ‘Not quite as exciting, ..’ that’s an understatement!

-Who wants a 6 year old computer or phone for more money than a new one???
This is GM's strategy: To advertise and market the crap out of old, out dated products, at premium prices...

GM does not compare to Tesla, but it's still positive news overall.

You missed a key criterion: the sales channel. I don't recall the exact number but I recently read that the typical car dealer adds about 15% to the cost of the car. That's a 15% penalty for GM before you even consider the products.

On top of that, I think it was Forbes, did a report on what happened when they visited one dealer in LA for each brand and asked about EVs. The results were depressing. They got talked out of them, told they were useless and that they were not in demand.

So the dealer sales channel is an enormous drag on legacy makers. Advantage Tesla.

As a Canadian i refuse to buy anything from GM. Giving Canadian jobs to Mexico is unforgivable.

GM has a great plan, but is 5 years late at the start, and trying to catch a rabbit that run faster than they are...

They wouldn't have to if they had continued development of the EV-1, pure shortsightedness. ;-)

It would be fun to have a follow-up, if pertinent after Tesla Battery day. Thank you for this peace...good summary... Francois

Interesting comparison, but I would really have appreciated if you would use the same comparison points for each of those videos. e.g. is there a reason why you brought up CPMOR in your comparison with VW but not with GM? (Besides the fact that with VW that comparison looked good for Tesla, which it wouldn't have here?) Tesla is the clear market leader and a promising leader for the future, they don't need sugarcoating on facts.

they may have been able to if they released good shit now. but it's all like 2025. tesla will be far far away by then

I love my Bolt, but currently, Tesla is far ahead in terms of technology. I’m sure GM will catch up and there will be some try competition! We need more EVs on the road! Great video

The only advantage (sort of) is when things break on a Tesla. I've heard small things like mirrors go for $800-$1000. One of the four motors is $2000.00 a piece. And because Tesla fanatically controls the parts chain, they make Mercedes and other luxury makes drool. Brakes are also expensive. So great when the company covers for 5-8 years. But what happens OUT of warranty?
