Hey Russell, I find running slider with a dodger/flasher with fly on the bottom creates a tangled mess on the retrieve. I run sliders alot, but only over spoons. Also in the event of hooking up with a steelhead on the slider it is not uncommon for the steelhead to run straight up the main line and you have to force release the main line and reel like a crazy man to pick up the slack. All said, 25% of my fish come on sliders. Thanks for the tips. How about showing running multiple rods off of a single downrigger.

Running a flasher on the main line is asking for big time troubles with tangles. Clean spoons or clip on jplugs only for me.

Instead of a rubber band i use a off shore release. Works great

*We tried this out finally yesterday and it worked awesome! **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it’s we put it on our 16 foot aluminum boat and trolled with it. We didn’t catch anything but it was still fun and worked awesome! Can’t wait to use this baby again and hopefully reel in a big ole fish! Very easy to install and set up.*

You have a downrigger cable right there, why not use the slider to stack multiple rods/lines on the main cable? If you get a double header you don't have fish tearing each other off, and no problems with tangled up terminal tackle when the top line goes down with a fish, or the bottom line comes up.

In Wisconsin is a stacker or slider still considered one poll for a 3 Pole limit per person while trolling?

I often find that when I retrieve the rigger line, the free slider has completely wrapped around it into a tangle. Not sure why this is happening or whether it happens during the retrieve or while trolling.
