Thank you... It's a simple thing, but before I bought them I wanted to understand how they worked. It wasn't clear, since they never really "loop" onto the line, more like just hook onto it.

Does the kink in the cable cause you concern? I tried mine Scotty clips today and noticed a kink. With a probe and a 12# ball, I am worried about losing the whole deal.
