we dont do pass the parcel at birthday parties. most ppl i know more were likely to have a piñata at kids birthday party. swing a baseball bat to unleash the candy inside.

We have them for pre-school, elementary, high school, and university/college/junior college. As well for organized sports at the end of the season. Party, party, party, always fun.

Cousins (as you as the starting point):
First cousin: your parents sibling’s kids
Second cousins: your parents cousin’s kids
First cousin once-removed: your cousin’s kids
First cousin twice-removed: your cousin’s grandkids

To figure out the rank of cousins, you count how many levels there are between each of you and your nearest common ancestor. So 1st Cousins share the same grandparents, so their 1 Level between (your parents). If the distance is different, you subtract the lower number from the higher, and that's how much "Removed" the Cousin Level is. So your child will be 1st Cousin Once Removed from your 1st Cousins. If you look at the one of your Great Great Grandparents (which give 3 Levels between you and them) and the Great Great Grandchild of one of their siblings, then you'd be 3rd Cousins, while their parent would be your 2nd Cousin Once Removed, and their parent would be your 1st Cousin Twice Removed, and your child's 1st Cousin Three Times Removed...

Our kids play a game called musical chairs. Kids move in the same direction while the music plays. There is one less chair than the number of children. We have a gifting game where you place the gifts on a table, draw numbers for the picking order. First person opens a gift. Second person can take the first persons gift before opening the one they selected.

For my daughters 1st birthday we had 45 adults and 27 kids at our house, family, extended family, college friends and neighbors. Good times!

My dad was 1 of 7 kids and my mom had 10 brothers and sisters. They were born in 40's and 50's. But still I have alot of aunts, Uncles, and cousins.

I called my grandfather Dado. In my family the grandparents were called different names in the list to differentiate between them. He also missed Granny in the list.

My family leans more british I guess lol Grandma (Dad's mom) was from Glasgow. Mom/mommy, Dad/daddy/pappa, little sister, grandma, grandpa.... Another name used a lot in the US for grandma is Nana

I called my mom's dad as "pop-pop", and my mom's mom as "granny". My cousins & siblings call my dad's dad as "granddad", and my dad's mom as "grandmom".

Grandmom sadly didn't see her first grandchildren. She passed in 1978, and her first grandchild was born in 1979. She's still loved by her grandchildren, though!

1st cousin is a child of your parent's sibling. First cousins share a grandparent
2nd cousin is a child of your parent's 1st cousin, same generation as you. Second cousins share a great-grandparent
Your parent's 1st cousins are your 1st cousin once removed.
Your 1st cousin's child is also your 1st cousin once removed.
That's where things get confusing cause the number removed can be either the number of generations before or after you.

Lawrence lives in the cold part of the US, where larger homes make sense, since they can’t enjoy the outdoors, year-round.
In warmer weather, we don’t require mega-homes. We still have many, for pretentious purposes - but there are a lot of 750 sq ft (70 sq meters) 2 bedroom single family homes in California. (Many were built during WWII.) There are many apartments larger than that.

My boys call my in-laws Memaw and Pepaw. My parents are MumMum and Pawpaw. I had a Nanny and a PupPup.

Generally I think the first grandchild picks a name and it sticksx

Family reunions are a thing in America . Every few years, sometimes as long as 10, cousins, aunt's, uncle's and siblings will get together for a visit .Usually at grandparents house
