My New German Shepherd Puppy: The First Week at Home

This is my German Shepherd’s puppy first week at home with us. Even if he’s still very small, he’s already showing his big character. He is a true leader of the pack, best shoes chewer I know and lovely companion for my older Golden Retriever Leo. This little German Shepherd puppy is the perfect addition to our family and makes us feel complete.

Puppies are so great, you take them away from their parents and they are still a bundle of joy. Never sad. I remember my GSD puppy cried the first night so I picked him up and put him in my bed and he never cried again.

Goldens are literally the best! Look at that big brother action! He welcomed that puppy with a patient open heart ❤he also taught him boundaries that puppy will need when interacting with other dogs down the road!👍

Beautiful pooches. I’m reminded of my gorgeous GS of some 40 years ago. It tears me up to think too much about him still today, and I try not to ponder on his abscence, it’s so upsetting. You’re going to have a marvelous life with this little one. My Diesel grew up to be gigantic, with a gorgeous flame - orange coat on his back. He ended up hardly ever sleeping. He used to patrol the house seemingly all night. And he’d jump up on my bed ( I was about nine or ten ), I could barely move he took up all the space. And I fell asleep watching him staring at the door and windows. He never hurt anyone, loved children especially, but seemed to be obsessed with inspecting and maintaining his territory.

3-4 month into growing my Shepard had one of his ear stand up before the other one and it was definitely the cutest and funniest thing to see then a week later they both pointed up😂😭

This brought back so many my memories, no better dog than a GSD. RIP kiara can’t wait to see you again my sweet girl.

One little advice from one Leo mom to another: don't interfere too much when Leo sets his boundaries. Little one has to know them. Part of social learning 😉

a Golden and a Sheppard! My 100 lb Sheppard is driving me nuts to go, out right now! He is a Circus Dog! Way too smart and sweet for his own good! Aww, baby crying, soo sweet and puppy breath❤️
