1: he has a unique biology done in such a way that before he had adamantium grafted onto his skeleton it didn’t really hurt that much to use his claws
2: the only reason it does hurt is because on the adamantium, also since the metal is so rigid it requires him to let out his claws only when he makes a fist otherwise it’ll go through his hand

In Marvel anatomy it is revealed that bones that retracte exist above his hand bones and his bones are also not exactly like humans.
Admantium is coated over his bones.
Also all of his bones are coated with admantium so it is impossible to break them like this.
