So before I buy my first air compressor I need to have my air tools already?

Don't forget about spray painting equipment for walls and ceiling. Cover them as well.

@2:32 no. a given compressor doesn't really experience a usable increase in flow as pressure drops. that isn't how electric motors work. that would only happen if they sped up as the load decreases, but they don't, line frequency determines max speed, their amperage draw will just decline. what you WILL see how ever, for some brands, is 2 different pulley sizes described and spec'ed for a given pump. a champion r-30 for example is rated at 48.5 cfm at 125 psi, but 43.1 at 175. but the 125 psi rating also describes a 8.38" pulley, versus an 8.15", and an rpm of 810, versus 740. but if you look at ingersol, even their 40hp compressors only lists a difference of 2cm between at 90psi vs 175, and thats at 20hp compressor with 74cfm. there is perhaps a slight difference due to heat, but this only might make a some what noticeable difference on tiny high strung compressors like this. its a common misconception people have with all compressors

You asked a good question, what's a good cfm, and then you ask something else and don't let him answer.

Nailers have Minimum Recommended Air Delivery SCFM @ 90PSI 1.2 or 2.8. Is smaller better?

does the cfm on compressor have to match the cfm on impact gun? have a 5.8 cfm compressor at 90 psi will it be sufficient for a 6 or 7 cfm impact gun?

What about for a impact drill gun that is 1/2"-3 1/2" drive impact sockets.

a sandblaster uses up to 60 scfm? thats insane, how much would a compressor of that capabilities would cost?

For pneumatic rammer what is the minimum PSI compressor ? If we store air for how long it's gonna last ?

Too vague. As a novice to air compressors you should be telling me what capacity, power, etc of air compressor I need to run various tools and also to make them run well because I don't have a clue. Typically air lines, impact gun, paint/rust protection sprayer.

I have a 9.6CFM air compressor, and am using a 5 CFM orbital sander. The sander only runs for 15 seconds without slowing down! Why is my air compressor not providing sufficient flow even though the specs say it can provide more than enough?
